Zeekr Introduces Zeekr 001 FR Electric Supercar, Deliveries Set to Commence in October

The Zeekr 001 FR has roared onto the scene with incredible speed, boasting a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of just 2.07 seconds. This achievement secures its position as the fastest mass-produced all-electric vehicle on the market.

Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, recently unveiled a high-performance variant derived from its inaugural production car, the Zeekr 001 shooting brake. This new powerhouse, the Zeekr 001 FR (Future Road), made its official debut at a launch event held in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.

One of the standout features of the Zeekr 001 FR is its mind-blowing acceleration, which allows it to go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.07 seconds. This achievement cements its status as the fastest accelerating mass-produced pure electric vehicle in the world.

The Zeekr 001 FR achieves this impressive performance thanks to four electric motors that collectively generate a staggering 1,265 brake horsepower, allowing the supercar to reach a top speed of 280 km/h.

Notably, the Zeekr 001 FR outpaces the Model S Plaid, a Tesla sedan with a peak power output of 1,020 hp, which takes 2.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h. However, the Model S Plaid maintains an advantage in terms of top speed, clocking in at 322 km/h.

The introduction of the Zeekr 001 FR signifies Zeekr’s commitment to its promise of saying “goodbye to dull EVs,” a pledge made when the original Zeekr 001 was unveiled in April 2021.

Reservations for the Zeekr 001 FR began recently, with a deposit of RMB 30,000 yuan ($4,130) required. While the official price of the Zeekr 001 FR has not been disclosed, Zeekr previously indicated that it would sell for over RMB 1 million.

Starting from October 2023, Zeekr plans to commence deliveries of the Zeekr 001 FR, with a limited production run of 99 units per month. Each buyer will receive personalized training sessions to ensure they can handle the high-performance vehicle.

Remarkably, Zeekr reported on Weibo that it received 99 pre-orders for the Zeekr 001 FR within a mere 15 seconds of initiating pre-sales.

Zeekr, established as an independent company in March 2021, introduced the Zeekr 001 on April 17, 2021, with deliveries starting in October of the same year. Currently, there are four versions of the Zeekr 001 available, two of which begin at RMB 269,000, and the other two at RMB 319,000 and RMB 349,000, respectively. This follows Zeekr’s announcement on August 11 regarding significant discounts available before the end of the year.

Previously, these four models were priced starting at RMB 300,000, RMB 300,000, RMB 349,000, and RMB 386,000, respectively.

Among these models, only one variant of the standard Zeekr 001 features a single motor and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, while the other three variants are equipped with dual motors, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 3.8 seconds.

The Zeekr 001 FR stands out as the first Zeekr model built on the 800 V high-voltage platform, marking a departure from the more common 400 V platform used in the company’s other models, including the regular Zeekr 001, Zeekr 009 MPV, and Zeekr X SUV.
