Zeekr Enters Kazakhstan Market: Launch and Sales Set for November
The highly-anticipated launch of Geely‘s premium electric brand, Zeekr, has taken place in Kazakhstan, a sprawling Central Asian nation with significant borders adjoining China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. This milestone event introduces the availability of two initial models: the Zeekr 001 liftback and the Zeekr X SUV. Anticipated for 2024, two additional models, the Zeekr 009 MPV and Zeekr CS1E sedan, are set to join the market.
A quick refresher: Zeekr, a distinguished high-end electric brand under Geely, celebrated an impressive domestic sales count of over 12,000 units in July 2023. The entire range of Zeekr vehicles rests upon the innovative SEA architecture. Notably, Zeekr has already commenced its European journey, with mass production of the Zeekr 001 liftback for the European market initiated in China. Adding to the global expansion, Zeekr is poised to establish its presence in Israel in Q4 of this year. And now, with the launch in Kazakhstan, the commencement of deliveries is imminent.
Orbis Auto has been bestowed the exclusive role of Zeekr’s distributor in Kazakhstan. This firm boasts prior experience with Chinese premium brands, currently serving as the distributor for Chery’s Exeed brand. Additionally, Orbis is a local distributor for Geely, the parent company of Zeekr. Orbis Auto’s announcement affirms that Zeekr’s vehicles in Kazakhstan will feature interfaces in the Kazakh language, further enhancing the brand’s accessibility. Moreover, customers purchasing Zeekr models from authorized dealers and distributors will benefit from comprehensive warranty coverage and technical support.
A crucial context emerges here: Zeekr vehicles have already established a solid presence in the Central Asia region through unofficial channels. The brand’s vehicles have been imported privately as used units. Kazakhstan is no exception to this trend. Thus, Orbis Auto’s technical support will be exclusively extended to officially imported vehicles. Beyond this, the company will be instrumental in the development of an efficient charging infrastructure.
While the price range for the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X models in Kazakhstan remains undisclosed, this information will be unveiled this month. Reservations are poised to commence in September, with the official deliveries scheduled to embark in November. Let’s delve into key details about the Zeekr model lineup for Kazakhstan.
