Zeekr Delivers First Batch of Zeekr X Electric Vehicles to Europe
Zeekr, Geely Holding Group’s premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary, has started shipping the first Zeekr X electric SUVs to Europe. This follows the shipment of the first Zeekr 001s to Europe about a month ago. The European version of the Zeekr X, which recently rolled off the assembly line, supports map navigation in 32 European countries and nine languages. It also meets E-NCAP’s five-star crash standards.
The Zeekr X is presented as a city SUV with a chassis tuned by a European team. The company unveiled its European strategy on April 18, offering EV products to European customers based on a direct-to-customer business model. The Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X began pre-sales in Europe on June 27, with starting prices of 59,490 euros ($63,400) and 44,990 euros respectively.
The first Zeekr 001s built for European customers rolled off the assembly line on August 2 and set sail for the Netherlands on August 25. Zeekr plans to begin delivering vehicles in Sweden and the Netherlands in the fourth quarter and expects to have a presence in six European countries by 2024, expanding to eight countries by 2025.
Zeekr was officially launched as an independent company in March 2021. Its first model, the Zeekr 001, was launched on April 15, 2021, and deliveries began in October 2021. The second model, the Zeekr 009 MPV, was officially launched on November 1, 2022, with deliveries starting on January 15. The third model, the Zeekr X, was unveiled on April 12 and deliveries in China began on June 12.
On September 1, Zeekr unveiled the Zeekr 001 FR electric supercar with an expected price of more than RMB 1 million. The regular Zeekr 001 currently starts at RMB 269,000 in China, the Zeekr X at RMB 189,800, and the Zeekr 009 at RMB 499,000.
In August, Zeekr delivered a record high of 12,303 vehicles, up by 71.69% year-on-year and up by 2.19% from July.
