Xpeng Unveils the Interior of the Refreshed G9; Show Cars to Be Available at All Stores This Month

Xpeng has unveiled the interior of the new G9, following the surprise reveal of the flagship SUV’s exterior. The 2024 Xpeng G9‘s interior maintains a similar styling to the current model, with two large center screens in the front and an instrument screen. The interior color options for the G9 include gray, black, and brown.

The first show cars of the new G9 are already available at Xpeng stores in 49 cities, including major Chinese cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xi’an, Hefei, and Nanjing. By the end of September, G9 show cars will be available at all Xpeng stores.

While Xpeng didn’t provide detailed information about the new G9, there have been rumors that it will do away with the less popular 5D music cockpit, potentially reducing costs. Additionally, it’s expected to improve the wireless phone charging setup, which currently has two panels but only one can charge a phone.

Xpeng launched the G9 on September 21, 2022, with a starting price of RMB 309,900 (approximately $42,320) for the on-sale model. However, the G9 faced initial criticism for its confusing configuration, which prompted Xpeng to overhaul the options to simplify the choices for customers.

Despite initial enthusiasm, G9 deliveries have declined in 2023, with monthly volumes consistently in the 1,000-unit range from February through July.
