The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) announced this strategic move in an August 10 update on its website. The decision aligns with new regulations introduced by the CSRC in response to challenges faced by Chinese companies listed in the US, including the Luckin Coffee financial scandal and the complexities around Didi’s US listing.

Although the announcement provides a glimpse into Innovusion’s plans for the US IPO, specific details remain undisclosed.

Founded in 2016, Innovusion has established research and development centers in key locations like Silicon Valley, Suzhou, and Shanghai. The company’s LiDAR manufacturing facilities are situated in Ningbo and Suzhou. A notable milestone occurred on March 28, 2022, when Nio delivered its first ET7 vehicles, marking the commencement of mass production for Innovusion’s LiDAR products.

The integration of Innovusion’s image-grade, ultra-long-range LiDAR Falcon into Nio’s ET7 led to the adoption of the LiDAR technology across all Nio NT 2.0 platform-based vehicles as a standard feature.

Innovusion has secured substantial funding to support its growth. It received $30 million in Series A funding in October 2018, with participation from Nio Capital. Qo'shimcha, the company garnered $64 million in Series B funding in May 2021 va $66 million in Series B+ funding in August 2021, both of which Nio Capital actively participated in.

Innovusion’s LiDAR technology has gained traction in various applications. It boasts partnerships with major players such as Baidu Apollo, self-driving startup Mogo Auto, and self-driving trucking firm TuSimple. E'tiborlisi, Innovusion’s Falcon LiDAR has been chosen to power the autonomous driving system of the FF 91 by California-based electric vehicle manufacturer Faraday Future.

Innovusion’s impending Nasdaq listing positions it as one of the initial suppliers within Nio’s network to go public. This move aligns with the industry’s ongoing evolution and Nio’s pursuit of innovation and partnerships.
