The New Compact EV Unveiled by Neta to Replace Neta V
Hozon Auto’s Neta Auto, a brand specializing in new energy vehicles (NEVs), has introduced the Neta Aya, a revamped version of its compact electric vehicle (EV), formerly known as Neta V.
On August 3, Neta unveiled the Neta Aya, replacing the Neta V, which has been taken off the NEV maker’s website.
The Neta Aya offers four different versions, with attractive starting prices of RMB 73,800 ($10,300), RMB 78,800, RMB 84,800, and RMB 88,800.
In terms of dimensions, the Neta Aya remains consistent with the Neta V, boasting a length of 4,070 mm, width of 1,690 mm, height of 1,540 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,420 mm.
Two variations of the Neta Aya are available, offering CLTC ranges of 318 km and 410 km, respectively.
The lower-range model of the Neta Aya is powered by an electric motor with a maximum power output of 40 kW and a peak torque of 110 Nm, while the 410 km version is equipped with an electric motor generating 70 kW of maximum power and 150 Nm of peak torque.
Neta has built its reputation as a budget-friendly NEV manufacturer, targeting the lower-end market with competitively priced vehicles.
While the Neta Aya represents Neta’s latest offering, the company also entered the premium segment with its flagship sedan, the Neta S, launched on July 31, 2022. Additionally, Neta unveiled the Neta GT electric sports car during the Shanghai Auto Show on April 18, which started at RMB 178,800 yuan.
In terms of recent sales performance, Neta delivered 10,039 vehicles in July, marking a decline of 28.48 percent compared to the same period last year and a 17.25 percent drop from June 2023. The company hasn’t provided a specific reason for the decline in deliveries, though the transition to the new Neta Aya model may have played a role.
Earlier, on July 20, Neta introduced a facelift for the Neta S, offering it at a starting price of RMB 159,800, a significant reduction of RMB 30,000 (15.81 percent) from the previous selling price of RMB 189,800.
