Tank 700 Hi4-T Set to Hit the Market on the 26th of This Month
“Great Wall Motor to Launch Tank 700 Hi4-T PHEV SUV in China on February 26th”
Great Wall Motor is gearing up for the release of the Tank 700 Hi4-T plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV in the Chinese market, scheduled for February 26th. The anticipation for this launch began last year when the Tank 700 made its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Following the detailed specifications reveal in December, the presale commenced on January 30th, with a price tag of 500,000 yuan (69,700 USD).
As part of the Tank brand introduced by Great Wall Motor in 2021, the Tank 700 Hi4-T joins the lineup alongside the Tank 300, Tank 400 Hi4-T, and Tank 500. While being the brand’s third PHEV model, it stands out as the first to feature a 3-liter V6 engine, distinguishing itself from its predecessors with a 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine. It’s worth noting that the Tank 700 is also available in an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version, as revealed by Chinese regulators last year.
Beneath the hood, the Tank 700 Hi4-T boasts a potent 3-liter V6 engine generating 360 horsepower, coupled with an electric motor and a 9HAT transmission, resulting in a combined power output of 517 horsepower. The SUV is equipped with a ternary (NMC) battery from SVOLT, a Great Wall Motors subsidiary, offering an electric range of up to 100 kilometers in NEDC conditions.
The Tank 700 Hi4-T exhibits the distinctive styling of the Tank brand, featuring a layered design on the front fascia with a chrome grille, prominent headlights, exposed winches, and golden fog lamps. With dimensions measuring 5096/2060/1952 mm, it stands as the largest model in the Tank lineup, boasting a rugged appearance with large wheel arches and generous ground clearance.
Inside the Tank 700 Hi4-T, a luxurious interior awaits, complete with dual large-size floating LCD screens, a heads-up display (HUD), and premium elements like a full suede leather roof. The SUV enhances the driving experience with features such as a Harman Kardon audio system and a panoramic starry sky ceiling.
The introduction of the Tank 700 Hi4-T is poised to make a significant impact on the luxury segment of the Chinese automotive market, offering a compelling combination of luxurious design, a powerful hybrid powertrain, and advanced features.
