Russian truck production increases by 19% in 2023, Kaliningrad Avtotor cooperates with China Foton Motor Company
According to Rosstat data, truck production will reach 168,000 units in 2023, an increase of 19.3% over the previous year.
It is worth noting that in February this year, Kamaz began producing K5-generation trucks based on new parts supplied by unfriendly countries. By the end of the year, more than 5,000 such tractors had rolled off the production line.
In April, the Russian Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Company began assembling EVM PRO electric trucks at a new enterprise in Technopolis, a special economic zone in Moscow.
In May, Sollers transferred production of the compact light truck Sollers Argo from the Sollers Alabuga plant to the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. Additionally, BN-Motors dealer holding opened a new plant in Bryansk in August to produce BAW light trucks, launched under its own BNM brand.
In September, Kaliningrad Avtotor cooperated with China’s Foton Motor Company to begin assembling commercial electric vehicles and producing them under the Brock brand. In December, the Kaluga plant “Automobile Automobile Association” (formerly Volvo Trucks) resumed truck production.
