Li Auto achieves outstanding performance with a delivery of 32,575 vehicles in June, reflecting a remarkable 150% increase compared to June 2022
On July 1, Li Auto achieved a significant milestone in its history by announcing the delivery date for June 2023. In June, the company delivered an impressive total of 32,575 new cars, surpassing 30,000 units in monthly deliveries for the first time. This represents a remarkable year-on-year increase of 150.1%.
Looking at the first half of 2023, Li Auto’s cumulative delivery volume reached 139,113 vehicles, showing a substantial year-on-year growth of 130%. To put this into perspective, the company has already exceeded last year’s total deliveries of 133,246 vehicles in just six months.
One of the factors that sets Li Auto apart from most electric vehicle (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) car companies is that all three of its current models, namely the Li L7, Li L8, and Li L9, are extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models, and all of them are SUVs.
Additionally, Li Auto’s products have an average transaction price exceeding 350,000 yuan (48,000 USD). In comparison, Tesla’s average transaction price in the Chinese market is around 260,000 yuan (36,000 USD), while BYD’s is about 170,000 yuan (23,000 USD). Li Auto’s average selling price is comparable to that of Audi. Among the brands with an average price exceeding 300,000 yuan (41,000 USD) in the Chinese market, Li Auto ranks fourth in sales, following BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz.
Li Xiang, chairman and CEO of Li Auto, expressed his gratitude for the company’s achievements on the evening of June 30. He stated, “Thanks to the comprehensive improvement of organizational processes and operating capabilities, the monthly delivery volume of Li Auto exceeded 30,000 for the first time, joining the ranks of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and Tesla. Li Auto is the only Chinese luxury brand with monthly deliveries surpassing 30,000 vehicles.”
Li Xiang also shared the company’s goals for the future. In the third quarter, they aim to deliver more than 10,000 vehicles per month for the Li L8 and Li L9 models. The Li L7 will strive to achieve a monthly delivery target of 15,000 vehicles, aiming to reach 40,000 monthly deliveries in the fourth quarter of this year. Additionally, through AI large-scale model technology, Li Auto conducted the first urban NOA test drive in China in June without relying on high-precision maps. They plan to deliver the commuting NOA function to users in the second half of the year. Furthermore, their first 5C pure electric super flagship model, the Li Mega, is set to be released in the fourth quarter. They are confident that this vehicle will become a new explosive product, with sales exceeding 500,000 units.
As of June 30, 2023, Li Auto boasts an extensive retail network with 331 retail centers across China, covering 127 cities. Additionally, the company has 323 after-sales repair centers and authorized body spray centers, serving customers in 223 cities, according to the official announcement.
