Huawei and Chery’s Collaboration Unveils Luxeed S7: Core Specifications Revealed in Regulatory Filing

Recent revelations from a regulatory filing have unveiled essential spec details about this innovative model. The Luxeed S7 sedan has secured a place in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) catalog, earmarked for public comment from August 15 to August 21. Inclusion in this catalog signifies the final major regulatory milestone before a model can be authorized for sale in China.

Chery, the esteemed manufacturer, is behind all three battery-electric versions of the Luxeed S7 featured in the catalog. This partnership aligns with Richard Yu’s announcement on Weibo on August 7, where he introduced the Luxeed brand’s first all-electric coupe, which will be powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4 operating system. The distinctive “LUXEED” emblem on the model’s front confirms its Luxeed brand association.

While Richard Yu did not initially disclose the automaker involved in this venture, the regulatory filings now affirm that Chery is the driving force behind the Luxeed brand. The Luxeed S7 boasts dimensions of 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, 1,474 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

Enthusiasts can anticipate both single-motor and dual-motor versions of the Luxeed S7, with Huawei as the motor supplier. These models support a top speed of 210 km/h, providing exceptional performance. The single-motor variant features an electric motor with a maximum power output of 215 kW, while the dual-motor version adds an extra motor boasting a maximum power of 150 kW.

CATL, a prominent battery supplier, furnishes the Luxeed S7 with a battery containing lithium iron phosphate, lithium ternary ion, and lithium iron manganese phosphate cells.
