Fang Cheng Bao, the new sub-brand under BYD, has taken a significant step forward in revealing its debut model, the Leopard 5. The brand recently released a series of official exterior images on its various Chinese social media platforms, showcasing intricate design elements and details.
Positioned as the pioneer model reflecting the Leopard aesthetics, the Leopard 5 signifies Fang Cheng Bao’s innovative amalgamation of power, technology, and off-road aesthetics. A striking poster accompanying the release teases, “The all-new Leopard 5, coming soon.”
The brand’s highly anticipated brand and technology launch is scheduled for August 16. While details about the event remain under wraps, the anticipation continues to build.
The journey to this milestone started with BYD’s official announcement of the Fang Cheng Bao name on June 9, followed by the revelation of the model’s name, Leopard 5, on July 4. BYD, recognized for targeting the sub-RMB 300,000 ($41,320) market, is expanding its horizons into the premium segment through sub-brands such as Denza, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang. The anticipated pricing range for the Leopard 5 is set to fall between RMB 400,000 and RMB 600,000, further diversifying BYD’s model pricing spectrum.
Building on the momentum, Denza recently introduced the Denza N7 and Denza N8 models catering to the RMB 300,000 to RMB 400,000 price bracket. Meanwhile, Yangwang initiated pre-sales of the U8, featuring the Premium Edition and Off-road Master Edition, both priced at RMB 1.098 million. The U8 Premium Edition is poised to hit the market in August, with deliveries slated to commence in September.
