BYD Celebrates Production of 500,000th Dolphin, Introduces Two New Commemorative Editions

BYD has reached a significant milestone with the production of the 500,000th unit of its Dolphin compact vehículo eléctrico (EV), which is based on its first e-Platform 3.0 modelo. El Delfín was initially launched on August 29, 2021, and has since seen impressive sales, with cumulative deliveries exceeding 30,000 units each month for the past six months.

To celebrate this achievement, BYD has introduced two new commemorative versions of the Dolphin. Precio en RMB 126,800 ($17,360) y RMB 139,800 respectivamente, these versions mirror the core specifications of the regular model, with the higher-priced version offering enhanced assisted driving capabilities. Both versions feature a unique red and black color scheme not available on the regular model.

In terms of incentives, BYD is offering a 2-year 0 percent interest loan and a RMB 2,000 trade-in subsidy for these commemorative editions. With these additions, the Dolphin lineup now includes five versions with varying starting prices.

The three lower-priced versions are powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 70 kW y un par máximo de 180 Nm. The two higher-priced versions have a more powerful motor with a maximum power of 130 kW y un par máximo de 290 Nm.
