China’s Yutong Inaugurates Car Service Center in Uzbekistan
On July 11, 2023, Yutong Corporation, a prominent Chinese automaker, launched its latest 12-meter bus model, the Yutong ZK6128H, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The event also marked the grand opening of the largest service center for Chinese automakers in the country.
Having been present in the Uzbek market since 2012, Yutong has become a leading supplier of various modified buses, including electric buses. In 2022, Yutong exported around 500 buses to Uzbekistan, including 20 electric buses, paving the way for the electrification of public transportation in the country. Notably, 40 Yutong buses played a vital role in providing transportation services for the SCO Summit in Samarkand that same year. In 2023, Yutong has already exported 800 buses to Uzbekistan, further solidifying its presence in the region.
Vasily Li, the Yutong manager, highlighted the impressive features of the new-generation vehicle, boasting a heavy-duty steel frame for enhanced fuel efficiency, an intelligent control system, reduced headwind resistance, and exceptional stability on all road conditions. The vehicle also incorporates the latest advancements in driver and passenger safety technology, with an impressive maintenance-free guarantee of 800,000 kilometers. For passenger comfort, air conditioning, heating systems, and audio-video facilities are thoughtfully provided.
Tolib Jakhongirov, head of the Samarkand tour company “Shaherezada Sam Star Tour,” acknowledged the growing popularity of Yutong buses in Uzbekistan. In response to the increasing demand, they collaborated with their Chinese partners to establish a dedicated vehicle service center. The center is fully stocked with original spare parts, and experienced mechanics from China have been engaged to work and transfer their expertise to local experts. To build customer confidence, the services offered include exciting promotional activities.
To celebrate the occasion, a lottery was held at the press conference, and lucky participants had the chance to win miniature replicas of various Yutong bus models. The grand prize was set to be the company’s driverless passenger transport model, highlighting the advancing prospects of autonomous vehicles in Uzbekistan. Experts in the country’s transport sector anticipate the possibility of introducing driverless passenger vehicles within the next 3-5 years, in line with the modernization of road networks in several cities.
China’s automotive exports to Uzbekistan have been witnessing a positive trend, with Yutong playing a significant role in the country’s transportation landscape. As China’s automotive industry continues to innovate and expand, the future of Chinese car exports to Uzbekistan looks promising, offering advanced and eco-friendly mobility solutions to the nation’s growing transportation needs.
