CHERY Introduces the Discovery 06, a Cutting-Edge Off-Road SUV
Exciting news from the Chery brand reveals that the much-anticipated Discovery 06, a compact SUV tailored for “mild off-road” experiences, is set to make its debut on August 20th. Initially rolling out in a fuel-powered variant, the model’s future lineup will also include plug-in hybrid options.
The Discovery 06 by Chery boasts an imposing exterior design that exudes toughness. A commanding presence is established through its sizable gray grille, adorned with the prominent Chery English badge, and flanked by sleek daytime running lights that enhance its distinctiveness. With a split-type headlight assembly, the front lights frame the vehicle’s face, while the rear showcases bar-type taillights with a striking red and white mosaic pattern echoing the front’s daytime running lights. The lower surround features chrome accents and body-matching trims, infusing a dynamic aura, while a concealed exhaust pipe design adds a touch of sophistication.
Inside, the Discovery 06 embraces a bold and robust design ethos. A vertical central control LCD screen commands attention, complemented by a full LCD instrument panel and a distinctive gear shift lever, collectively presenting a futuristic technological ambiance. The vehicle’s capabilities are highlighted by a 21-degree approach angle, a 29-degree departure angle, and a confident 200mm minimum ground clearance, equipping it to tackle uncomplicated off-road scenarios. Powering the SUV is a potent 1.6T engine paired with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. This setup delivers an impressive 145 kW (197 horsepower) of maximum power and a robust 290 Nm of peak torque. Anticipated to offer an all-wheel drive system across the model range, the Discovery 06 will feature various driving modes including snow, mud, and sand settings.
