BYD’s New Brand, Fang Cheng Bao, Unveils Its Logo
BYD’s New Sub-Brand, Fang Cheng Bao, Unveils Logo and Reveals First Model Name”
Fang Cheng Bao, BYD’s recently introduced sub-brand, has unveiled its logo following the announcement of its first model’s name ten days ago. The logo, shared by Fang Cheng Bao on Weibo, features a horizontally placed arrow design.
The brand name “Fang Cheng Bao” translates to “Formula” and “Leopard.” The term “Formula” represents mathematical precision, while “Leopard” signifies power, according to the brand’s poster.
BYD officially introduced the Fang Cheng Bao name on June 9, adding it to its existing brand matrix, which includes Dynasty, Ocean, Denza, and Yangwang.
Previously, BYD referred to the new brand’s first model with the codename SF, describing it as a hardcore SUV expected to launch this year.
On July 4, Fang Cheng Bao announced that its inaugural model would be called the Leopard 5.
Pricing information for Fang Cheng Bao’s first model has not been provided by BYD during the preview period. However, AutoinChina reported earlier that the model is expected to target a price range of 400,000 yuan ($56,030) to 600,000 yuan.
There have been rumors circulating this month that Fang Cheng Bao’s first model will be equipped with BYD’s DM-o powertrain, which will be the third hybrid system from BYD, alongside the DM-i and DM-p.
Currently, about half of BYD‘s monthly sales consist of battery electric vehicles (BEVs), while the other half comprises plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). The DM-i focuses on fuel economy among the PHEVs, while the DM-p emphasizes performance.
The DM-o is anticipated to combine the technological strengths of the DM-i and DM-p, providing the vehicle with a total combined range of up to 1,200 kilometers and a total powertrain power of up to 500 kW, as reported by several local media outlets earlier this month.
