BYD Introduces Yuan Up: Affordable Compact Electric SUV with Impressive Features

BYD has unveiled the Yuan Up, its latest addition to the Dynasty lineup, marking it as the newest affordable model in its portfolio. Positioned as the first A0-class SUV on BYD’s all-electric e-Platform 3.0, the Yuan Up offers three trim levels, catering to diverse consumer preferences.

With starting prices ranging from RMB 96,800 ($13,400) to RMB 119,800, the Yuan Up boasts a range of up to 401 kilometers on a single charge, thanks to its blade battery technology. This compact electric SUV measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, providing ample space for passengers and cargo.

Equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, the Yuan Up accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 7.9 seconds, delivering a dynamic driving experience. Additionally, its fast-charging capability allows for convenient recharging, reaching from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.

To appeal to a younger demographic, BYD offers a range of vibrant exterior color options, including green, white, pink, and gray. Moreover, customers purchasing before June 30 can benefit from limited-time entitlements, such as a RMB 2,000 trade-in subsidy and a 24-period 0-interest loan.

The launch of the Yuan Up aligns with BYD’s strategic vision to expand its market reach and accelerate the transition to electric vehicles. With its competitive pricing and youth-oriented design, the Yuan Up is poised to bolster BYD’s sales performance and contribute to the company’s ambitious targets for NEV sales growth.
