BYD Introduces Tang EV and Tang DM-p Glory Editions with Significant Price Reductions
BYD has unveiled the latest updates for its Tang EV and Tang DM-p models, now available as Glory Editions, following the recent update to the Tang DM-i variant.
Today, the renowned new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer launched the Glory Editions for both the all-electric Tang EV and the hybrid Tang DM-p, continuing its trend of reducing prices over the past two months.
The Tang EV Glory Edition starts at RMB 219,800 ($30,350), marking a significant reduction of RMB 30,000, or 12 percent, from its previous price of RMB 249,800.
Similarly, the Tang DM-p Glory Edition starts at RMB 229,800, offering a substantial price cut of RMB 40,000, or 14.83 percent, from its previous price of RMB 269,800.
The Tang family, including models like the Dynasty and Ocean series, positions the Tang lineup as the flagship SUV within the Dynasty range.
Differentiating by powertrain, BYD offers EV variants for fully electric models and DM variants for hybrid vehicles. Among DM variants, the more fuel-efficient DM-i and performance-oriented DM-p versions are available.
Comprising the Tang DM-i, Tang EV, and Tang DM-p, the Tang family witnessed the Tang DM-i receiving the Glory Edition update on February 28.
The Tang EV Glory Edition is available in three variants, priced at RMB 219,800, RMB 239,800, and RMB 269,800, respectively, all benefiting from a RMB 30,000 price reduction compared to their predecessors.
Measuring 4,900 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, the Tang EV Glory Edition offers variants with battery capacities ranging from 90.3 kWh to 108.8 kWh, providing claimed ranges between 600 km and 730 km.
Similarly, the Tang DM-p Glory Edition is offered in three variants, priced at RMB 229,800, RMB 249,800, and RMB 269,800, respectively, all benefiting from a RMB 40,000 price reduction compared to their predecessors.
The Tang DM-p lineup includes two regular models and a Warrior Edition, all featuring four-wheel drive capability and impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.3 seconds.
According to BYD’s figures announced on April 1, the company achieved sales of 302,459 NEVs in March, the second-highest ever, with the Tang family models accounting for 14,079 units, reflecting a 16.04 percent year-on-year increase and a remarkable 162.82 percent surge from February.
