Shenzhen, China – In a groundbreaking achievement, BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) reported the sale of a remarkable 262,161 New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in the month of July. Notably, the Tang family models played a significant role in this success, contributing a total of 12,662 units to the impressive sales figures.

Earlier this month, BYD officially introduced the new Tang family models in China, following a successful pre-sales launch at the Chengdu auto show. These latest additions to the Tang family come in both Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) variants. The PHEV lineup includes two distinct versions: the fuel-economy-focused DM-i and the performance-oriented DM-p.

The new Tang EV is available in three different versions, each catering to varying preferences and budgets. These models are priced competitively at RMB 249,800 ($34,270), RMB 269,800, and RMB 299,800, respectively.

It’s worth noting that during the pre-sales period commencing on August 25, the starting prices for these models were slightly higher, beginning at RMB 250,000, RMB 270,000, and RMB 300,000, respectively.

The new Tang DM-i, designed for those seeking a balanced driving experience, is offered in a single version with a starting price of RMB 249,800. Its pre-sale pricing was set at RMB 250,000 yuan.

Meanwhile, the new Tang DM-p, targeting performance enthusiasts, comes in three distinct variants with starting prices of RMB 269,800, RMB 289,800, and RMB 309,800, respectively. During the pre-sales period, these models were originally priced at RMB 270,000, RMB 290,000, and RMB 310,000.

What’s particularly appealing is that all the new Tang family models are now available at starting prices reduced by RMB 200 compared to their initial pre-sale rates. To sweeten the deal for customers, those who place orders for the new Tang family models will receive various benefits, including a RMB 4,000 trade-in subsidy and complimentary home chargers.

For those interested in the older Tang models, they will remain available for purchase alongside the new Tang family lineup, as indicated on BYD’s official website. The 2022 Tang EV can be acquired within a price range of RMB 282,800 to RMB 342,800, catering to a diverse range of preferences and budgets. On the other hand, the older Tang DM-i and Tang DM-p models offer starting prices ranging from RMB 209,800 to RMB 281,800 and from RMB 291,800 to RMB 331,800, respectively.

With this stellar performance, BYD’s sales in July have undoubtedly set a new benchmark in the New Energy Vehicle market, showcasing the company’s commitment to providing innovative and affordable EV options to a wider audience.
