BYD Officially Introduces Fang Cheng Bao Brand and DMO Platform for Off-Road Market Expansion

Fang Cheng Bao, the personalized sub-brand introduced by BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY), is determined to make its presence felt with a dedicated technology platform named DMO, aiming to diversify its offerings and venture into the off-road sector.
In a significant event held at its Shenzhen headquarters, BYD officially introduced the Fang Cheng Bao brand, unveiled its advanced DMO technology platform, and showcased the initial offering under the brand – the Bao 5. This introduction marks BYD’s strategic move towards capturing a share of the off-road market while emphasizing innovation and technology.
The DMO platform, signifying “Off-Road,” represents Fang Cheng Bao’s commitment to excel in this niche, enabling high-performance vehicles with exceptional fuel efficiency. BYD’s previous hybrid technology platforms, DM-i for fuel economy and DM-p for performance, are now joined by DMO to focus on off-road capabilities.
Amid the anticipation surrounding the Bao 5’s launch, BYD surprisingly presented two more models: the Bao 3 and the Bao 8 concept. Although the English names for these models are yet to be finalized, BYD’s move showcases its dedication to shaking up the traditional off-road vehicle market.
The Origin Story of Fang Cheng Bao Having been previously referred to as the F brand, BYD officially named its new sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao on June 9. This moniker encompasses the brand’s mission to deliver personalized and professional automotive experiences to a global audience. Wang Chuanfu, BYD’s Chairman and President, emphasized the integration of expertise, design, and a holistic supply chain system to provide vehicle owners with exclusive possibilities and options.
Fang Cheng Bao’s expansion is backed by a comprehensive network of sales and service centers, spanning over 100 touchpoints across 60 Chinese cities. These centers will offer not only sales and delivery services but also exclusive tuning options, aligning with the brand’s personalized approach.
Revolutionizing Off-Road Vehicles with DMO The DMO platform, a hybrid technology marvel, marks BYD’s decisive entry into the off-road segment. This platform focuses on optimizing electric drives for superior performance and low fuel consumption, promising up to 35 percent fuel savings compared to conventional fuel-powered off-road vehicles in its class.
