The Mona brand originated from Xpeng’s acquisition of Didi Global’s EV business in August 2023. Xpeng announced plans to launch the new brand in 2024 under the code name Mona. The partnership with Didi included providing support for Mona’s entry into the shared mobility market, with performance incentives tied to production and sales targets. If Mona achieves 180,000 annual sales for two consecutive years, Didi could earn up to 5 percent of Xpeng’s equity.

Focus on AI and Smart Driving

Mona stands for “Made of New AI,” emphasizing Xpeng’s commitment to advanced smart driving technologies.
