تسلا Introduces China-Made الموديل Y to South Korean Market, Adjusts Pricing for Subsidies
تسلا (ناسداك: TSLA) has commenced the sale of its China-made Model Y crossover in South Korea, accompanied by a price reduction to maximize available subsidies, as reported by Bloomberg.
The rear-wheel-drive الموديل Y, originally priced at 56.99 million won ($44,000), now drops to approximately $37,000 in Seoul after accounting for government subsidies. In certain cities offering additional incentives for electric vehicles (المركبات الكهربائية), the price can go as low as $30,000.
سابقا, only the dual-motor performance and long-range versions of the Model Y were available in South Korea, with price tags of around $80,000 و $62,000, على التوالي, last year.
The Model Y went on sale on Friday, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in August or September, as stated in an advertisement sent by Tesla Korea.
Tesla’s factory in Shanghai, known as Giga Shanghai, produces both the Model 3 sedan and Model Y crossover, boasting an annual capacity of over 1 مليون وحدة. It is Tesla’s largest factory globally.
Apart from serving the Chinese market, Giga Shanghai also functions as an export hub for Tesla. في مايو, Reuters reported that Tesla would sell China-made Model 3 and Model Y models in Canada, marking the completion of the first shipments to North America from the Shanghai plant.
Tesla’s cost advantage in China, along with its exports to Canada, opens up new opportunities in various markets for Tesla Shanghai, providing a favorable position among other EV manufacturers.
According to the China Passenger Car Association (سي بي سي إيه), Tesla sold a total of 93,680 China-made vehicles in June, the second-highest figure recorded after November 2022’s 100,291 الوحدات. من بين هؤلاء, 74,212 were delivered in China, بينما 19,468 were exported.
في النصف الأول من العام, Tesla sold 476,539 China-made vehicles, منها 182,434 units that were exported.
