Nio Confirms the Launch of the New EC6 on September 15 and Is Already Accepting Pre-Orders

This announcement from Nio follows information previously shared by a social media user regarding the upcoming EC6 launch.

The EC6 is the only remaining Nio model that has yet to transition from the older NT 1.0 platform to the newer NT 2.0 رصيف, and Nio has not provided further details about the vehicle at this time.

A Weibo user quoted Nio’s co-founder and president, Qin Lihong, as revealing at a partner conference that the new EC6 would be released on September 15, with deliveries commencing shortly after.

Nio had previously indicated its plans to launch and begin deliveries of the upgraded mid-size coupe SUV, the EC6, في سبتمبر. This launch would mark the completion of a full product transition to the NT 2.0 رصيف, as mentioned during an analyst call on August 29 following the release of the company’s second-quarter earnings report.

The original launch of the EC6, based on the NT 1.0 رصيف, took place on December 28, 2019, with initial deliveries starting in September 2020. The starting price was RMB 10,000 higher than the older ES6, which was based on the NT 1.0 platform and also available in three versions.

Nio made adjustments to its pricing strategy at the end of June, reducing the prices of all models by RMB 30,000 and transitioning the previously free battery swap service into a paid option, which is no longer available as of August.
