“Leapmotor Files Regulatory Filing for C01 Sedan EREV Variant, Continuing Dual Power Strategy”
Leapmotor has recently submitted a regulatory filing for an extended-range electric vehicle (إريف) variant of its flagship C01 sedan, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to its dual power form strategy.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (ميت) in China has included the Leapmotor C01 EREV in its latest catalog of models, which will soon be open for public comment. The public will have the opportunity to provide feedback from July 14 to July 20. Inclusion in this catalog is a significant regulatory step towards approval for sales in China.
The C01 EREV variant, listed in the catalog, is available in three versions with dimensions of 5,050 مم في الطول, 1,902 مم في العرض, و 1,515 مم في الارتفاع, جنبا إلى جنب مع قاعدة عجلات من 2,930 المليمتر. The overall dimensions of the EREV variant are similar to the previously available C01 battery electric vehicle (بيف), with the exception of slightly increased height at 1,515 المليمتر.
Powering the C01 EREV is an electric motor with a maximum power output of 200 كيلوواط, coupled with a range-extender with a maximum power of 68 kW and a displacement of 1,499 ml. One version of the model will utilize a lithium iron phosphate battery pack from Gotion High-tech, while the other two versions will be equipped with lithium ternary batteries from CALB.
ليب موتور, أنشئت في 2015, currently offers various models for sale, including the T03 mini vehicle, S01 coupe model, C11 flagship سيارات الدفع الرباعي, and C01 flagship sedan. The C01 sedan, initially launched on September 28, 2022, was previously available only as a BEV targeting the market range of RMB 200,000 ل 300,000 ($28,000 ل $42,000).
In response to declining sales, Leapmotor announced plans last year to introduce EREV models, aiming to tap into the larger market for plug-in hybrids. Leapmotor’s founder, رئيس, والرئيس التنفيذي, Zhu Jiangming, stated that all models under the company’s C platform, as well as future platforms, will have both BEV and EREV versions.
After officially launching the C11 EREV on March 1, Leapmotor also offered 2023 versions of previously sold BEVs, resulting in lower starting prices. These strategic moves have proven successful in boosting sales, مع 13,209 vehicles delivered in June, surpassing the previous record of 12,525 vehicles in August last year.
