The investment for this complex is estimated at 3 billion reais, and it was jointly announced by BYD and the Brazilian state government of Bahia on July 4.

The industrial complex encompasses a production facility for electric buses and truck chassis, a new energy passenger car manufacturing plant, and a processing plant specializing in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery materials. The passenger car production line will have the capacity to produce pure electric models and plug-in hybrids, with an annual output target of 150,000 الوحدات.

علاوة على ذلك, the LFP battery material processing plant will leverage local port resources to meet the increasing global demand for new energy vehicle (نيف) products.

Production at this expansive industrial complex is slated to commence in the second half of 2024, and it is anticipated to generate over 5,000 local jobs, as stated in BYD’s earlier release. This underscores BYD’s commitment to the Brazilian market and its contribution to the region’s economic growth.
