BYD is following its successful approach in other markets by collaborating with local dealers to distribute its electric vehicles in Hungary. In partnership with local dealers Duna Autó and Wallis Motor Duna Kft, BYD is establishing an integrated service network that will cover the entirety of Hungary. This network aims to provide customers with a comprehensive experience encompassing vehicle purchase, usage, and after-sales support.
Since its initial announcement of entering the European passenger car market at the 2022 Paris Auto Show, BYD has expanded into 19 European countries. Hungary represents the first Central Eastern European market that BYD has ventured into, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion efforts.

BYD introduced three battery electric vehicles (BEVs) – Atto 3, الهان, and Tang – to the European market on September 28, 2022, signaling the beginning of its foray into the passenger NEV market in Europe.

Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto, announced during a visit to BYD’s headquarters in Shenzhen in late June that the NEV manufacturer intends to establish a battery assembly plant in the northern Hungarian town of Fót with an investment of 10 billion forints ($29.8 مليون).
