Of these new hires, nearly 70% hold master’s or doctoral degrees, and about 80% are engaged in research and development, according to a post by BYD on Weibo.

BYD operates across multiple sectors, including automotive manufacturing, battery production, consumer electronics assembly, and rail transportation. Its automotive division includes the brands BYD, دينزا, فانغ تشنغ باو, ويانغوانغ.

According to BYD’s 2023 annual report, the company had a total of 703,504 employees by the end of the year, منها 524,673 production workers and 104,003 technicians. من بينها, 31,506 employees held a master’s degree or higher, بينما 89,914 had a bachelor’s degree.

Not only is BYD the world’s largest NEV manufacturer, but it is also the second-largest electric vehicle (EV) battery producer. According to data from South Korean market research firm SNE Research, BYD captured 15.7% of the global EV battery market between January and May 2024, trailing only behind CATL’s 37.5%.
