Having declared its foray into car manufacturing on March 30, 2021, Xiaomi unveiled the SU7 on December 28, 2023. The model’s pricing remains undisclosed, and an official launch date is yet to be confirmed.
Lu Weibing, the president of Xiaomi Group, conveyed that the official launch of the Xiaomi SU7 is imminent, suggesting domestic deliveries may commence as early as the second quarter, based on a CNBC report dated February 26.
On February 27, an executive from Zeekr, following the release of their updated Zeekr 001, shared in a media interview that Xiaomi’s inaugural EV model is expected to be officially launched on March 28.
Xiaomi responded by stating that the precise launch date for the Xiaomi SU7 will be communicated through official channels.
As the initial batch of 2S (Sales & Service) stores undergo renovations, Xiaomi’s inaugural directly managed automotive stores in Beijing are also undergoing refurbishments, signaling an impending revelation of pricing and delivery details, according to Lanjinger.
Diverging from the direct-sales model adopted by major Chinese automakers, Xiaomi EV plans to sell vehicles through both directly managed stores and 2S authorized stores.
Having signed letters of intent with the first 14 sales and service partners on December 29 at its Beijing headquarters, Xiaomi Group, as mentioned by Lu on January 2 via Weibo, is taking strides in the automotive retail sector by emphasizing direct sales and leveraging external forces to enhance business efficiency and user experience.
