2024 Mercedes-Benz Vito: Upgraded Design and Power with a Starting Price of 336,800 Yuan

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz Vito has officially hit the market, offering two configuration levels with flexible seating options for 7, 8, or 9 passengers. Priced between 336,800 and 386,800 yuan, this updated model comes with significant enhancements in design, features, and powertrain, marking a price increase compared to the previous version.

Enhanced Design and Features

The new Mercedes-Benz Vito boasts a refreshed front fascia, featuring a larger air intake grille that frames the license plate area, alongside a redesigned three-spoke chrome trim and a prominent three-pointed star logo at the center. The front surround also sees an update with a sleek, shovel-shaped structure integrated into the lower bumper. While the side and rear profiles remain largely unchanged, the Vito now supports new 17-inch 5-spoke light alloy wheels and 235/55 R17 tires. It is available in three exterior colors: “Time and Space Silver,” “Obsidian Black,” and “Snow White.”

Inside, the 2024 Vito introduces a significantly upgraded interior, highlighted by a 5.5-inch LCD instrument panel and a 10.25-inch central control screen. The central control buttons are more refined, and the air-conditioning vents have been redesigned for a more modern look. Additional features include a round multi-function steering wheel, the second-generation MBUX intelligent system, keyless start, and an electronic parking brake.

Configurations and Comfort

The Vito offers flexible seating arrangements, including 2+2+3, 2+3+3, and 2+2+2+3 layouts. The entry-level Elite version comes standard with heat-insulating glass, heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, a 17-inch high-performance brake system, and cruise control. The higher-end Business version adds luxury features like Nappa leather-wrapped steering wheels, wireless charging, and a 360-degree panoramic imaging system, among others.

Power and Performance

Under the hood, the new Mercedes-Benz Vito is powered by an upgraded M254 2.0T inline four-cylinder engine paired with a 48V ISG motor system, delivering a maximum output of 170 kW and 370 Nm of torque. This powertrain is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, offering improved performance compared to the previous model, which had a 155 kW engine and 350 Nm of torque.

Market Position and Competition

Positioned below the Mercedes-Benz V-Class in the brand’s MPV lineup, the Vito competes with other mid-to-large MPVs like the Buick GL8, GAC Trumpchi M8, and Toyota Sienna in the Chinese market. Despite a modest sales performance of 1,200 units in July, the new upgrades could boost its appeal in this competitive segment.

With its enhanced features, modern design, and improved powertrain, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz Vito is set to attract more buyers looking for a premium, versatile MPV. What are your thoughts on the new Mercedes-Benz Vito? Share your opinions in the comments below.
