At the highly anticipated 2024 Chengdu Auto Show, SAIC Volkswagen officially unveiled the Tuyue New Rui, an entry-level compact SUV aimed at young drivers. For a limited time, the price starts at just 79,900 yuan, offering an incredible deal compared to the regular guide price of 125,900 to 153,900 yuan.
Sleek Exterior with Volkswagen’s Signature Design
The Tuyue New Rui adopts Volkswagen’s latest family design, drawing inspiration from the Tiguan L Pro. Key features include a large smoked-black air intake grille and through-type design elements that give the car a bold and modern appearance. Catering to young consumers, the SUV also features black exterior components, including mirrors, wheels, and roof racks. The vehicle dimensions are 4355mm in length, 1762mm in width, and 1605mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2651mm—making it slightly smaller than the original Tuyue model.

Inside, the Tuyue New Rui boasts a clean, classic Volkswagen design. It is equipped with a 9.2-inch LCD instrument panel and a semi-embedded 10.3-inch central control screen, along with traditional Volkswagen-style air conditioning controls and shift levers. Under the hood, the Tuyue New Rui offers two engine options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine delivering 81kW of power, and a more powerful 1.5T engine that produces 118kW. The 1.5T engine is equipped with advanced technologies like a VTG variable-section turbocharger and a 350bar high-pressure fuel injection system, balancing power and fuel efficiency. The car comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission for the 1.5L model and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for the 1.5T model.
